It’s Not Your Grandfather’s Shop Class!

Because it is not your grandfather’s world anymore.

It’s theirs!

To thrive in their world, they need new skills to cope with changing technology.

The challenge is not only learning new technology — anything they learn now  will be different in a few short years — it is learning how to change.  A challenge for students as well as the community.

Some schools have adopted a program called STEM:  Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics.  It’s more than a few subjects, it’s a change in what we remember as a “classroom”and “teaching”. Fortunately, our own Pine Plains, NY, has an outstanding example that can be shown in action to the community.  That’s why I made this film!

Enjoy!  And if you are in the PPCSD, be proud!

  1. Awesome work, Stan! With the help of your video, we can see and hear how much we have to be proud of in our district and with our kids. You and they are truly bringing us into the 21st century.
