Burger Night at the Farm

Posted on September 20, 2015

Chaseholm Farm Creamery held its last “Burger Night” event of the 2015 season. Oh, how I wish there were more!

It a great combination of “scrumptious” burgers, the cows, the people and the music by Jim “Cowboy” Wright and his bluegrass band, The Hayrollers, just up the road in Ancramdale by way of Virginia.

Well, see for yourself!

Pine Plains Views has a history with this farm and the Chase family going back a generation and it’s a personal thrill for me to see the farm continue in the family.  The first Burger Night, in 2014, was a simpler affair to introduce the concept to the community. Here are some stills I took of that first evening:

So nice that you showcased this farm. Brought back memories of when I lived in Pine Plains. The Chases are a special family.

Perfectly beautiful photography! Makes me proud of the town where my family has lived for generations as farmers! Thank you, Stan for capturing this place with such artistry!

WHY THIS WEBSITE

I came to Pine Plains by choice, not by chance of birth.

But the small-town rural community I chose is changing. The farmers have, for the most part, sold to people from the city and fields are becoming lawns.

And, like the land, people, too, are becoming subdivided as difference breeds distance rather than discourse.

I have been making these videos to preserve and reconstitute what I can of a changing way of life and to share it with the community.

On a more personal level, I am making this website as a way of holding on to the reasons why I came here.
